Chilean miner mistress Susana Valenzuela was revealed last month as Yonni Barrios’ affair (alleged, of course) and as the trapped miner is about to be rescued today (some time between 2 and 3 PM EST), his wife won’t be there to greet him, but reportedly Susana will! Get more on this story plus see photos and video below.

Quite the story, eh? While many have been watching the live rescue of the 33 men trapped, one story does stand out, the Chilean miner mistress, Susana Valenzuela, allegedly linked to Yonni Barrios.

I feel for Barrios’ wife. Can you imagine how she felt upon learning of this alleged affair? Here’s basically how she found out… Last month, Barrios admitted to the alleged 10 year affair (although some reports suggest the relationship has been going on for five years) with Valenzuela, seemingly after it was thought that things didn’t look so good for the 33 miners trapped. I suppose it was one of those moments on Barrios’ part to absolve himself of any guilt, but that’s just my opinion. In addition to that admission, his wife and alleged mistress were at the very same candlelight vigil for the trapped miners when Salinas saw Valenzuela ‘crying and calling out her husband’s name‘. Gah….awkward! Can you picture that scene going down?

To make matters worse in the whole situation, Barrios requested that both his wife and his alleged mistress, Susana Valenzuela, be present at the time of his rescue. Ummm, seriously? His wife (they have been married for 28 years) of course was none too happy with that tidbit of information and declined to greet her hubby when he was rescued. She revealed to a reporter:

“I am happy because he made it, it’s a miracle of God. But I’m not going to see the rescue. He asked me to, but it turns out that he also asked the other lady, and I am a decent woman. Things are clear: it’s her or me.”
