There is a new mom in Hollywood, Charlize Theron! The blonde beauty has revealed that she adopted a baby boy. In what is a shocking yet thrilling surprise, Charlize announced that she has a son. What we know about the little bundle of joy is that he is African American, he was born in the United States and his name is Jackson. Theron’s rep released this statement regarding her exciting news. Charlize Theron has adopted a child. She is the proud mom of a healthy baby boy named Jackson. US Weekly is reporting that adopting a child is something the Academy Award winning actress has wanted to do for a long time. Last night, David and I were invited over to Tamar and Rob’s home for a fun dinner party to celebrate our engagement. Tam reached out to us almost immediately after we got engaged and started planning a small dinner get together. Tam and Rob lovingly opened up their home for us and Tam, with help from her mom and Ollie, cooked one of the most amazing meals I’ve ever had. David and I have spent many a fun night at Tam and Rob’s house but last night was really extra special.

Our dear friend Eileen baked her WORLD FAMOUS cupcakes (pictured above) and Tamar’s parents gave us a beautiful orchid plant (that we will really try not to kill). Rob played host and Caleb & Darion played video games … it was just a amazingly fun night overall. I know I’ve professed my love for our friends many times before … but I simply must gush again. Families come in different sizes and configurations. David and I are lucky to have family everywhere we go. I don’t know what sort of good deeds we did in our previous lives that resulted in our having THE BEST FRIENDS in the world in this life but we are very grateful to be so blessed. It’s a very special feeling to know there are people in the world who care so much about one’s happiness and well-being. I truly hope all of you experience that kind of love in your lives. To our dear friends Tamar, Rob, Ollie, Caleb, Eileen, Darion and Mr. & Mrs. Levine — thank you all so much for your amazing friendship. David and I love you so much.

So, yeah, our Sunday was pretty amazing. My Monday looks to be pretty quiet. I need to get running before I head out and take care of some errands. It’s chilly as heck here in LA today. Tho, the sun is out so … it looks like it’s going to be a great day :)

Gabrielle Union was a little ticked off at the the TSA on Wednesday after one "required a hair patdown" because her weave set off the body scanner at an airport security checkpoint!

The Think Like A Man actress angrily tweeted her experience, writing:

"Ma weave got "flagged" by the bodyscan at security. TSA required a hair patdown. No lie...they coulda just asked if it was the temple hair."

"If human hair & thread sets off the bodyscanner...a lot of folks jus ended up on the "watch list"...its a weave not terrorism."

She was particularly surprised to have issues because the TSA agent who initiated the invasive security check "was a black female."

Beyond that, you'd think the agent would have recognized Gabrielle from one of the MANY television shows and movies listed on her extensive resume, including 10 Things I Hate About You, Bring It On, and Bad Boys II!

Airport security eventually figured out that Gabrielle wasn't a terrorist and the actress joked:

"Bout to take off...hopefully my weave doesn't cause turbulence...its clearly very powerful."

We're sorry to hear Mz. Union had to deal with this annoying hassle, but at the end of the day, the TSA agent was only doing her job!

The big news out of Dallas this morning was the arrest of acclaimed country singer Randy Travis. Early this morning, the cops were called to a local Baptist church after someone spotted a suspicious vehicle. When the police arrived, they found Randy chugging down on a bottle of sacramental wine, drunk off his rocker.

Randy was hauled off to jail, but was booked, cited and released in the same span of time it probably took him to get hammered.

Wonder if he'll turn this bender into a Billboard chart-topper? Cowboys like to write songs about their embarrassing drunkscapes, right?

After a day of work and recuperation, Sarah opened her beautiful home to a bunch of our friends last night for a big get together/party. It had been a long time since the bunch of us got together to hang out and catch up with one another so we really made the most of the time we had together. Altho not everyone could come out last night, we managed to pull together a pretty full house of dear friends. I’m usually really good about taking a bunch of cameraphone photos at parties like this but I was honestly preoccupied with hanging out with every one. Princess Zakiya was an absolute doll, as was my good friend Sherri’s youngest son Daniel … who decided to bless us with his rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody:

Daniel was a bit shy but his older brother Kyle was there to help him sing his song. It was the cutest thing ever! At some point around 1AM the board games came out and, well, it was a RAUCOUS night of hard partying! Actually, notsomuch … but we all did have a great time just hanging out and having fun together … just like the good ol’ days. It is always so nice being home … getting infusions of love like this every once in a while does much to enrich my life :)

Today will be a short day for me here in Detroit. I’m hanging out with my parents this afternoon and then I’m jetting back to LA this evening. I’ll be comin’ atcha again from the West Coast tomorrow. I hope YOU all are having a fantastic weekend! Happy Sunday!!

Dr. Conrad Murray, who was sentenced to fours in prison in November for the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson, has filed legal documents to appeal his conviction, on the basis of "improper exclusion of defense evidence and witnesses that resulted in violating the defendant's State and constitutional rights to due process, to present a defense and to the effective assistance of counsel," and is even requesting that pending the ruling, he be released from jail!

Oh, but don't worry! He's willing to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet!

How flexible of him!

Yeesh! If he wants to appeal, that's his prerogative, but we think he should stay right where he is!

The Sam Worthington flick is estimated to rake in 9.8 million this weekend, Katherine Heigl's romantic comedy might make $5 million, but The Grey is on track to make $12 million.

Today I have to send out HUGE Birthday Lurve to my beautiful home State of Michigan because today is it’s 175th birthday. Michigan became the 26th State back in 1837 after a silly skirmish with Ohio over land rights and today is celebrating it’s Dodransbicentennial. Cool, eh? Honestly, I had no idea that January 26 was Michigan‘s birthday despite my overachievement in Michigan Studies back in grade school. Nonetheless, I am very happy that I am able to BE in Michigan for the big day :D

Lessee … if memory serves from my Michigan Studies class … the State stone is the Petoskey stone … the State bird is the Robin and the State motto is “If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you” (the State is made up of a lower peninsula that looks like a mitten and an upper peninsula that looks like a rabbit jumping over the mitten). Other thrilling facts: Michigan is known as The Wolverine State, the State flower is the Apple Blossom and Michigan is home to the 5 Great Lakes — Superior, Michigan, Ontario, Huron and Eerie (collectively, they make up the highest concentration of fresh water in the world). Um, I could go on and on but you get the gist … Michigan is a pretty freakin’ cool place. I hope you’ll join me in sending 175 years worth of Birthday Lurve to Michigan today!

Last night, Sarah, Mark, David and I took my parents out for dinner at Andiamo’s in Dearborn, MI to celebrate my Dad’s birthday. While he’s not quite as old as Michigan itself … he’s gettin’ up there:

Both of my parent’s were really surprised when I showed up on their doorstep. My mom claims I almost gave her a heart attack … WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS GOING FOR! Actually, no, I didn’t want to scare them … but I am glad that they were both surprised. I bundled them up in the car and took them to our impromptu dinner party. We had a great night together.

Sadly, David had to fly back to LA today to take care of some biz so I’ll be here in Detroit for the rest of the week solo … as much as I’ll miss David, I will get some extra alonetime with my BFF Sarah. We’re planning on seeing The Artist tonight so … it should be fun.

So it turns out that Kim’s ex-hubby is not as dumb as he comes off. He may have made his first smart move in months over the weekend. That’s right. This is the first look at Mz. Houston's new movie Sparkle with co-star Jordin Sparks.

And gurlfriend is looking good!

Jordin described her experience with working with her idol:

"She was so cool and very motherly toward me. If I ever looked like I needed something, here she came saying 'Are you okay?'

I sang her songs into a hairbrush when I was little. Now she's acting as my mom and scolding me. It was a dream come true."

The movie is a remake of the 1976 film about a group of singing sisters.

Whitney herself expressed her excitement on working on the period piece:

"Part of the fun of making this movie is definitely the costumes and the hairstyles. The movie is set in 1963, and we had a great wardrobe, hair and makeup person and I loved wearing the outfits."

And they suit her well. We're so glad she's looking healthy and is doing what she does best. So, so, SO hoping we get to hear her sing in the film.

Wow, we can't believe it's been 15 years since we last saw one of our favorite divas on the big screen. It's about time she makes her comeback!

Oooh poor Katy – not only is she dealing with the loss of the relationship and recently filed divorce papers but now this… obviously it isn’t confirmed that it is definitely going to be published but the news going around today is that Russell is planning on writing and releasing this memoir, and no doubt if this memoir does eventuate, it will have a lot of info in it about his marriage to Katy.

“Katy is insulted and feels betrayed that Russell has treated her so poorly,” a pal to the “Firework” singer, 27, tells Us. “She will never forgive him…He’s being so atrocious that she feels like she never knew him.”

Oh this is sad, I admit that I can be a bit gullible when it comes to love… but seeing an ex attack, like this, just seems to be so futile and malicious. In this case Russell may have been planning on publishing a memoir for a while now, and we could give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he will include stuff in it about Katy (it would be weird if he didn’t) but it doesn’t have to be hurtful and include all the minute details of why the marriage didn’t work out.. we will have to wait and see if the rumor of a memoir actually comes into fruition. It will make for some interesting reading if it does…

2012 will be a BIG year for Ryan Seacrest!

On top of his busy schedule that includes American Idol, hosting a radio show, and producing numerous reality hits for E!, the multi-hyphenate is creating his own television network!

Seacrest is partnering with Mark Cuban to rebrand the already existing HDNET as AXS TV (in case you were wondering, it's pronounced "access").

Sources say the channel will start broadcasting under the new name in the summer and will feature mostly live lifestyle and live entertainment fare geared toward pop culture and entertainment enthusiasts . Thanks to investing partners like AEG and talent agency CAA, they've got lots of connections to utilize.

You won't be seeing Seacrest's face on any programming, but he will be creating content, as he told sources a while back:

“[AXS TV] will not be the Ryan Seacrest channel… it will not be branded with my name or my face. My role would be to hope to provide content for them, but primarily it would be an ownership role.”
